Here is what I found out, is that the Apple Mobile Device will start up on its own with out clicking on anything. Since YOU own your computer, and Apple doesn't, you should NOT have to uninstall any of that crap and you shouldn't have to uncheck any options to prevent it's installation. The Mac OS is certainly different, but there's really no denying that it runs much more smoothly and responsively on worse hardware than does Vista. I always like to see debates about which OS is better - Mac OS or Windows.

Well, I uninstalled my AMDS using the main method told about, here, using the Uninstall button that shows with the Change button. However, WMDC requires version 3.5 of the .NET Framework, which is not part of the Windows 8 installation.
